Be a part of something big! Consider joining the Board of Directors at CSAC.

Last year, CSAC welcomed about 2,000 community members through our doors. It’s a team effort to help people lead emotionally healthy and satisfying lives, from our dedicated, compassionate staff to our collaborative, supportive volunteer Board of Directors.

We welcome inquiries about joining the board from anyone in our community who is passionate about CSAC’s mission and shares our values of empathy, dignity, and collaboration. Because CSAC is committed to dismantling institutionalized racism and seeking justice for historically disadvantaged groups, Board members are also asked to be willing to deepen their understanding of these issues and assist with re-evaluating our practices accordingly.

In particular, we are seeking community members who have personal, professional, and/or volunteer experience in one of these areas: human services; education/counseling; finance; fundraising/communications/outreach. Even if you do not have experience in these areas, we encourage you to consider applying with any experience you feel will complement our mission.

We have a fund to support board members whose personal finances might otherwise present a barrier to their participation. Lost wages and expenses incurred during board service, such as childcare and transportation, may be reimbursed.

To apply, please send a letter of interest to ATTN: Jenn Staats, 89 Main Street, Middlebury, VT 05753 or email: csac_board@csac-vt.org  In your letter, please tell us why you would like to serve on CSAC’s Board of Directors and how you would bring your knowledge, lived experiences, skills, and attributes to bear on the work of the organization. If you have a resume, you are welcome to submit it, as well, though a resume is not required. If writing a letter of interest presents a barrier for your candidacy, we are happy to make alternative arrangements; call (802) 388-0302, extension 442.

If you would like to meet with a current Board member to learn more about the role before submitting an application, send an email to: csac_board@csac-vt.org or call (802) 388-0302, extension 442.

We’d also love to have a broader geographic swath of the Addison County community represented, so residents of Vergennes, Bristol, and their surrounding towns are highly encouraged to apply.
