Summary: Teachers must be intentional about the strategies they teach young children in order to develop social-emotional competence. We will learn the skills and strategies children need for problem-solving and review the other prosocial skills that young children are developing. We will focus on how teachers can create individualized goals for children and teach the social-emotional strategies to those children in a variety of ways throughout the day. Teachers will evaluate their current social-emotional curricula and practice creating social-emotional goals and embedded curricular plans/modifications for children. This training qualifies as advanced specialized care.
