Join the Stern Center for an enriching and educational workshop series on social emotional learning in children pre-K through grade 6. These 5 workshops explore play, Peer Mediated Interventions and Supports (PMIS), Theory of Mind (ToM), social competence, and social communication.

Workshop 2: Play...with Friends: Engaging social competence & communication between peers
Play is the most important part of a child’s development. Furthermore, opportunities for play with and between peers provides children with repeated exposure to language, symbolic play and social negotiation. The broad range of Peer Mediated Interventions and Supports (PMIS) will be overviewed and then participants will engage in the guided development and implementation of PMIS programming, supports, and strategies. This workshop can be taken as a follow up to the introductory play workshop or as a stand- alone learning opportunity.
