Basic Specialized Care is a six-hour introductory training for early childhood professionals who serve vulnerable children and their families in child care settings. This training is one of the requirements to become a Specialized Child Care Provider in Vermont. Topics covered include: child development, the impact of stress and abuse on development, red flags, working with families and the system, and mandated reporting responsibilities. The mandated reporter training is required before taking Basic Specialized care.

This Northern Lights training will be held at the Middlebury Police Department. The Mandated Reporter training is REQUIRED before taking Basic Specialized Care. Per CCV Policy, please do not bring children to this training.
