Early MTSS: Tier 2, part one: Intentional Teaching of Social-Emotional Skills TWO Sessions: 8:00-11:30, 12:30-4:00
This session will focus on the developmental skills of social-emotional development in early childhood and how to support and teach skills to children within the classroom. We will spend time on teaching emotional literacy as a foundational skill for development of these prosocial skills and end with some planning for implementation in the classroom and/or with individual children. Staff should bring needed materials with them to begin writing a whole class or individualized teaching plan, social story, or observation/communication tool at the end of the session.
In follow-up sessions at individual programs we will build on Tier 2 content and implementation and offer time for reflection and problem-solving. These will be offered at times that are convenient for PreK programs.
