A Mosaic of Strengths
Sarah describes the CSAC Youth and Family team as a mosaic—a group of clinicians and staff with diverse training, identities, and lived experiences, all working together to support kids and families in Addison County.
“We figure out who the best clinician is for each case,” she says. “We don’t operate in silos. We share, we step up for each other, and we grow together.”
That dynamic teaming was a major shift from Sarah’s previous work in more research-oriented settings, which she says often felt isolating.
“Being part of a community mental health system means I get to be woven into the fabric of what keeps this region going. I work with schools, medical providers, housing supports. It’s complex—and that’s what makes it rich.”
Families as Partners
For Sarah, one of the most meaningful parts of the job is the partnership she forms with the families she supports.
“Every family brings their own wisdom, strength, and resilience,” she says. “I bring my clinical skills, but we collaborate. We co-create a plan for their child, and that’s powerful.”
She’s continually inspired by the families she meets—particularly given the stress and strain that the last few years have placed on so many.
I’m consistently humbled by the strength people bring. This job is about honoring that, and building on it
A Place for Every Stage of Your Career
Sarah wants clinicians—whether just out of graduate school or decades into practice—to know that CSAC has a place for them.
“There’s incredible supervision and mentorship for new clinicians. And there’s deep, complex work and leadership opportunities for experienced providers. No matter where you are in your career, you’ll be valued here.”
And if you have a specialty or passion like Sarah does? Even better.
“This is a place where you can bring your full skill set. You’ll be supported to practice the way you were trained, and you’ll grow with a team that respects what you bring to the table.”
